What does a Homeowner Advisor like Remodel Doula do?

A homeowner advisor like Remodel Doula helps homeowners plan renovation projects, review contractor proposals, manage expectations, and provide dedicated support throughout the remodeling process.

Is hiring a Homeowner Advisor worth the investment?

Yes. A homeowner advisor helps homeowners avoid expensive mistakes, improve communication, and save both time and money during a renovation. Remodel Doula has had clients come in with large estimates ready to sign, and they found that rough materials weren't included - a discovery that would have blown their budget mid-project. The question isn't whether the fee is a lot. It's whether it's a lot compared to what you're about to sign.

How is a Homeowner Advisor different from a contractor?

A homeowner advisor provides independent guidance and advocacy for homeowners, while contractors focus on performing construction work.

When should I hire a Homeowner Advisor?

It is best to hire a homeowner advisor before construction begins. Early planning helps homeowners establish budgets, compare proposals, and prepare for the remodeling process.

Can a Homeowner Advisor help me choose a contractor?

Yes. A homeowner advisor can review estimates, explain differences between proposals, and help homeowners select professionals who are the right fit for their project. Remodel Doula often recommends professionals to clients at the start of the project, if their entire team isn’t already set in stone.
