I've been in the remodeling industry since 2003, licensed as a General Contractor in the Bay Area since 2009, and I've done a lot of this work on my own home, too.
I renovated my house, built an ADU on a real budget, and bought the property next door by planning carefully and learning every hard lesson so I wouldn't have to learn it twice.
